Along with many areas of New South Wales and Victoria, the Shoalhaven has recently experienced bushfires in December 2019 and early January 2020 with some areas then affected by floods in February 2020 and a year of challenges with COVID19 throughout 2020.
Many Shoalhaven businesses, families and individuals have been directly and indirectly significantly affected by these events. We can all help the region with recovery by supporting the local tourism operators, accommodation providers and economy by supporting local business. Come with an empty esky and leave with a full one is one campaign in full swing.
One of the Beta International Climbing Festivals sponsors, Shoalhaven City Council are also running a "Rejuvenate in the Shoalhaven" campaign here https://www.shoalhaven.com/rejuvenate
